The salt hits right after the anise, and that molasses finish keeps it from being too sharp—exactly the balance I was hoping for. I've already eaten three pieces today and I'm trying to pace myself.
This bag barely lasted two days in my house, that salty-sweet molasses bite is dangerously moreish. The sea salt really does spark against the anise, makes it feel way more complex than your average black licorice.
