Our Pure Kosher Sea Salt infused with house-fermented garlic and Burlap & Barrel's Buffalo Ginger, an heirloom variety grown in Northern Vietnam. Featuring a slightly sweet umami flavor with a punchy hit of ginger.
I’m sprinkling this on roasted veggies and even eggs, and that fermented garlic depth with a hint of ginger sweetness is exactly what my spice rack was missing. The crystals are coarse enough to give a nice crunch, though I do wish the jar came with a smaller shaker top for easier portioning.
The black garlic comes through with that mellow sweetness, and the ginger adds a nice warm kick without overpowering. It dissolves quickly, so I’ve been using it on eggs and simple salads where I can actually taste the umami. Only wish the jar were a bit bigger for the price.
I used it as a finishing salt on roasted vegetables, and the umami kick is present without being overwhelming. That said, the ginger is more subtle than I hoped for, so it feels more like a standard garlic salt with a slight twist. Fine for the price, but I don't see myself repurchasing.
